These Terms of Use govern your use of plugpenny.com/ (the “Site”), operated by Daniel Moreno Terreros (“we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. What the Site provides
PlugPenny publishes general information, calculators and estimates about household energy use and costs in the United States and the United Kingdom. We are not an energy supplier, a price comparison service, an electrician or a financial adviser.
2. Estimates, not advice
- Our figures are estimates based on typical appliance ratings, our own measurements and average published rates (see our Methodology). Your actual costs depend on your appliance, your usage, your tariff, taxes and fixed charges.
- Always check your own bill and tariff before making a decision. Prices and government schemes change.
- Nothing on the Site is professional, financial, legal or electrical advice. Electrical installation and repair must be carried out by a qualified, licensed professional.
- If you smell gas, see sparks or suspect an electrical fault, stop using the appliance and contact the emergency services or your utility immediately.
3. Calculators
Our calculators are provided “as is” for personal, non-commercial use. We work to keep them accurate, but we do not guarantee that every result is complete, current or error-free.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access, scrape it at scale, introduce malicious code or use it for unlawful purposes. You must not click on advertisements on the Site other than out of genuine interest, or encourage others to do so.
5. Intellectual property
The text, data tables, images, calculators and design of the Site belong to us or our licensors. You may link to any page and quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the source page. Any other copying or republishing requires our written permission.
6. Links, advertising and affiliates
The Site contains advertising and links to third-party websites, some of which are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We do not control third-party websites, products or services and are not responsible for them. Any purchase is a contract between you and the seller.
7. Messages you send us
If you send us comments, corrections or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve the Site. Do not send confidential information.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its estimates, including loss of savings, profit or data. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.
9. Changes and availability
We may change the Site or these Terms at any time. The version published here, with its effective date, applies. We may suspend or withdraw the Site without notice.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
